Machine Learning for Healthcare Fellowship, PhD/Masters students.

About the role

We are seeking a talented PhD candidate to work with us on machine learning problems in healthcare. You will have unique access to clinical datasets and the opportunity to develop a model around cancer diagnostics. This role has the potential for transition to full-time, based on performance.

Research Direction

You will be given the autonomy to design and execute an ML research project related to cancer diagnostics, in cooperation with our technical staff. There is potential for academic publication based on the results of this fellowship.

Potential projects include a broad range of topics that we will tailor to your interests, with options including:

• Predictive modeling from clinical and biomarker data
• Biomarker discovery and feature selection
• Model interpretability for clinical decision making
• Time series modeling

Key Qualifications

• Pursuing research in healthcare ML, biostatistics or related ML field.
• ML infrastructure and tooling experience.
• Able to join us in our beautiful office in San Francisco.

Duration:

• Start: Sept/October 2025
• End: 4-6 months later.
