Lingo.dev helps world-class dev teams use LLMs for app localization and content translation.

We’re growing!

Developers use our open-source i18n toolkit 2 500 times every week. Our CI integration creates automated pull requests with missing translations the moment code changes. Our localization compiler makes React apps multilingual without rewriting existing code.

We're looking for a Staff Technical Writer – Content Engineering to own our entire content strategy – from technical documentation and developer experience to content marketing that drives organic discovery of AI-powered translations.

Our ideal Staff Technical Writer:

  • Speaks JavaScript, TypeScript, React and Next.js fluently – writes with the authority that comes from shipping code
  • Explains concepts instinctively – chooses code sample vs. diagram vs. step-by-step without hesitation
  • Polishes every sentence until confusion becomes clarity
  • Cuts time-to-hello-world to < 5 min and doubles organic traffic YoY through content-driven acquisition
  • Builds scalable systems – frameworks, templates and automation that handle 10× traffic with no extra effort
  • Runs SEO calendars end-to-end – from keyword research to ranking optimisation and funnel conversion metrics
  • Architects docs-as-code pipelines (MDX / CI / linting / distribution) that grow with the product
  • Prompts AI tooling with taste and intuition – achieving 25×–50× output speed while keeping craftsmanship intact
  • Learns fast, owns mistakes and adapts at startup speed
  • Iterates with real users, turning questions into systematic content that prevents future confusion

You'll create content developers quote to each other. Architect systems that turn chaotic feature sets into logical learning paths. Design onboarding sequences that take users from zero to productive in minutes. Craft blog posts that transform complex AI-localisation concepts into stories that attract and convert.

You'll own time-to-hello-world, drive organic discovery, and turn documentation readers into active users who ship translations on day one. You’ll have budget for the tools, freelancers and resources you need to scale impact.

Design thinking, intuition and taste

AI now handles the mechanical side of prose. Claude-4, O-3 – they churn out passable drafts in seconds.

What remains invaluable? Intuition and taste – shaped by solving hard problems, learning what actually works, and, in moments of uncertainty, making the right call when there’s no clear answer. That kind of judgment is forged through architecting content strategies that turn keyword research into compelling narratives, building docs-as-code systems that scale, and refining AI-generated text into documentation developers genuinely want to read.

We don’t want you to join us because you can write. We want you to join us because you feel what is good, elegant, and beautiful – because you see what others don’t. And because you’re a great person to work with.

We're a deeply technical team, backed by the same investors who backed Stripe, Airbnb and Coinbase. And all of them want us to build devtools developers want.

We hire globally, work remotely, and meet regularly as a team in new locations around the world.

If you're looking for a space to do your 120 % best – send us your CV, and attach the most unusual work you’re proud of!
