Lingo.dev helps world-class dev teams use LLMs for app localization and content translation.

We’re growing!

Developers use our open-source i18n toolkit 2,500 times every week. Our CI integration creates automated pull requests with missing translations the moment code changes. Our localization compiler makes React apps multilingual without rewriting existing code.

We're looking for a Frontend Design Engineer to join us and build the interface that helps developers worldwide use AI models for translations.

"Design" appears in the title for a reason.

Simple: AI has made coding & writing easy. Claude-4, O-3, Cursor, Devin – they write decent code and text now.

What remains invaluable? Intuition and taste—refined by tackling tough problems and discovering what truly works. When faced with uncertainty, you instinctively make the right call, even without a clear answer. That instinct isn't magic—it's judgment trained through building countless interfaces that users genuinely love.

We don't want you to join us because you can code or write. We want you to join us, because you feel what is good, elegant, and beautiful, because you see what others don't. And because you're a great person to work with.

Our ideal Frontend Design Engineer:

  • Solves complex navigation problems - like helping users discover features they didn't know they needed
  • Crafts hover states, empty states, skeletons, loading animations, and micro-interactions that make waiting feel fast
  • Designs component APIs that other frontend engineers actually want to use
  • Knows when to build custom solutions vs. when to extend existing patterns
  • Designs onboarding flows that help new users feel at home and productive from their very first session
  • Gets excited about new browser APIs and CSS features the day they ship
  • Learns fast, admits mistakes proactively, and accepts reality quickly to move at the top speed with the rest of the team
  • Thrives on direct customer feedback, iterating with users on Slack and engaging with the community on Discord

You'll solve navigation and usability challenges that define great developer tools. You'll design flows that feel natural. You'll help users explore and master complex capabilities. You'll make advanced tasks feel simple. Your interfaces will invite users in, no matter how sophisticated the technology behind them.

You'll craft stellar, one-of-a-kind animated React components that users actually want to screenshot and share with their friends. You'll create those moments that make people fall in love with using developer tools.

Our tech stack is JavaScript-based (React, TypeScript), but we're open-minded about the right tool for the job and that should excite you.

You'll face intense UX challenges and solve interface problems others give up on, with a world-class team that makes it worthwhile.

We're a deeply technical team, backed by the same investors who backed Stripe, Airbnb, and Coinbase. Plus founders of Supabase and Dependabot. And all of them want us to build devtools developers want.

We hire globally, work remotely, and meet regularly as a team in new locations around the world.

If you need more space to do your 120% best – send us your CV, and attach your most unusual work you're most proud of.

Thanks!
