Product Operations Associate
New York, NY (in-person, SoHo)
$85,000 to $95,000 Base Salary + Meaningful Equity
Trayd, in one sentence
Trayd is building the operating system for commercial construction: payroll, compliance, and back office workflows that actually work in the real world.
Construction is one of the biggest industries in North America, and it still runs on a messy mix of spreadsheets, legacy payroll providers, and manual processes that break the moment things get even slightly complex. The people doing the work are the hardest working people in the country, and the companies running crews are forced to spend hours every week fighting systems that were never built for them.
We’re changing that.
Trayd started with a simple promise: construction workers should be able to access the money they already earned faster, and subcontractors should be able to run payroll without chaos. Today, we’re building deeper infrastructure across payroll, union rules, job costing, and accounting workflows so our customers can run their businesses with confidence. We’re in the next phase of growth, with accelerating customer demand and a platform that runs real payroll every week, and we’re scaling engineering to match it.
Trayd is based in New York and backed by Y Combinator.
The role
We’re hiring a product operations associate to help drive how new products get built, launched, and improved at Trayd.
This is a high-ownership role designed for someone early in their career who wants to learn quickly and take on real responsibility. You’ll work directly with the CTO (who is also the Head of Product) and product leadership on launches, analytics, and solving messy real-world problems across customers and internal teams.
You will not be stuck doing narrow operational tasks. You’ll be involved in decisions, product strategy conversations, and execution from idea through rollout.
If you want a front-row seat to how a startup scales products and teams, this role is built for that.
What you’ll do
- Own launches of new product lines and major features from planning through rollout
- Coordinate across engineering, customer success, operations, and leadership to ensure launches succeed
- Analyze product usage, customer behavior, and operational data to identify opportunities and risks
- Build dashboards, reports, and analyses that inform product and business decisions
- Work directly with customers to gather feedback, understand workflows, and identify gaps in the product
- Translate messy real-world problems into clear product requirements and operational plans
- Help define processes that allow the company to scale as we grow
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and drive solutions end-to-end
- Support leadership in strategic initiatives that don’t fit neatly into one function
Example things you might work on
- Launching a feature across multiple customers and coordinating rollout plans
- Investigating why a workflow is breaking for certain users and designing improvements with engineering
- Building analysis to understand adoption of a new product and recommending changes
- Interviewing customers to understand how they currently solve a problem and shaping the product approach
- Creating internal tools or processes that reduce operational friction
- Helping prioritize what gets built next based on customer feedback and business impact
Why this role is different
- Direct exposure to leadership. You’ll work closely with the CTO and product leadership from day one
- Real ownership early. You will own projects, not just assist on them
- Customer proximity. You’ll talk to real users and see how decisions impact them immediately
- Massive learning curve. Product, operations, analytics, and strategy all in one role
- Career acceleration. This is a strong path into product management, strategy, or leadership roles over time
- In-person team. We work together in Soho five days a week because speed and collaboration matter
Who you are
- 1–3 years of experience in consulting, startups, operations, product, analytics, or similar roles
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- High agency with modern tools, including AI. You actively use AI to accelerate research, analysis, writing, and problem solving, and you’re excited to push how these tools can improve how we operate.
- Strong problem solver who enjoys figuring things out in ambiguous situations
- Comfortable working with data and learning analytical tools
- Clear communicator who can work across technical and non-technical teams
- High ownership mindset: you follow through and make things happen
- Excited to learn quickly and take on responsibility early in your career
- NYC-based or ready to relocate quickly
Nice to have
- Experience with analytics tools, spreadsheets, or SQL
- Exposure to startups, fintech, SaaS, or operations roles
- Interest in product management long term

This is an in-person role in Soho, five days a week. We move quickly, collaborate constantly, and value people who take initiative and ownership.
If you want to learn how products actually get built and launched inside a fast-growing company, you’ll fit here.
