Laboratory & Office Manager

About the role

We are excited to recruit an exceptional Operations & Laboratory Manager to join the Cleancard team. We are establishing a brand-new HQ in San Francisco and looking for an ambitious individual to ensure Cleancard’s operations are running smoothly. This role will oversee and manage laboratory and office infrastructure + processes. Our Ops & Lab Manager will design laboratory operations from scratch to maximize productivity while making sure the overall HQ is operating at max efficiency. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, well-organized, proactive about increasing efficiency, dogged about EH&S and safety, and passionate about our mission to improve cancer diagnostics. You will work closely with our highly multidisciplinary team, including some of the brightest scientists, software engineers, biomedical and mechanical engineers in the Bay, to help bring our first diagnostic offering to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Knowing the HQ better than anyone else and creating a safe, productive, and welcoming environment.
• Oversee EH&S for the company, including developing SOPs, managing SDS’s and PPE, and chemical/biohazardous waste management.
• Manage laboratory inventory and ordering processes.
• Flexibility to learn and take on laboratory work streams as desired.
• Stocking the office space with needed supplies and helping organize events such as meetings, conferences, and journal clubs.

Key Qualifications

• Previous experience as a lab manager is a must-have (experience as an early-stage startup lab manager is preferred).
• Bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in biology, chemistry, laboratory or medical sciences, biomedical engineering, or similar is preferred.
• Familiarity with EH&S guidelines and previous experience overseeing safety / proper disposal of chemical / biohazardous waste.
• Plus points for familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, FDA) and quality control processes.
• Proven abilities in organization and proactively facilitating team productivity.
• Ability to successfully participate in a fast-paced, highly creative and enthusiastic, start-up environment with people who are motivated to succeed together as a team.
